About

Selina Pope

4_edited.jpg

I am a portrait artist living and working in London.

Being half Chinese and half English, and growing up in Scotland, my work primarily focuses on identity, and the complex connection between how one sees themselves, compared to how others (and society at large) sees and ‘categorises’ them. My work combines features of traditional realism on one hand (symbolising the way that someone is objectively seen), and, on the other hand, elements of illustration and symbolism to depict a person’s unique story.
